VSNL's Revolutionary Initiative to the ease the connectivity problem

The people with the prefixes given in the table below have to dial only one phone no. 4404444 and they will be connected directly to VSNL without having delays caused by inter-exchange congestion.

Ever since VSNL launched the dialup Internet services in August 15, 1995, there has been a problem connecting to VSNL modems. The problem has many elements, which are problematic. For example the actual noise on a phone line pair, the load on the inter-exchange phone calls, especially during the peak traffic hours. These are enumeration of some of the problems, which exists.

Now VSNL have taken an initiative, which will at least ease the problem of inter-exchange congestion. This is a start of an approach to solve the connectivity problem.

Actually this is totally new plan implemented by VSNL. VSNL has now decided to take a multiple 2 Mbps pipe from major exchanges around Mumbai and terminate them directly on our Remote Access Server. This will avoid all the congestion due to choking of MTNL trunk exchange and are also expected to improve the performance, as these are digital lines. Each 2 MBPS pipe has 30 dial-up lines.

This has resulted in single hunting number around the Mumbai (However lets keep our finger crossed on this)

Hence now if customer dials 4404444 from any exchange prefixes given in the table above, he will directly land on to VSNL network bypassing all the MTNL congestion.

A direct Internet Access has been provided from the following Exchanges to ease the congestion on MTNL Network and to improve the accessibility. With this addition we are adding 600 more lines for the users of MUMBAI.

The connectivity from the remaining Exchanges in Mumbai is under installation and testing.
